Fantôme Phonographique present a reissue of The Music of Roscoe Holcomb & Wade Ward, originally released in 1962. A magical collection of Kentucky's own Roscoe Holcomb, one of the most legendary figures of Appalachian music and a huge influence on the '60s folk scene, and Wade Ward, a Virginia fiddle and clawhammer banjo player whose style has been often imitated. Playing banjo, guitar, and singing in that beautiful high lonesome sound, Roscoe Holcomb covers the first side of this LP, in his wild and raw style. A coal miner for most of his life, Roscoe knew the world he sang of all too well, his authenticity is unassailable. Wade Ward handles the second side, with banjo, fiddle, and vocals, playing in the Galax style and with more composure than the at times unhinged Holcomb. The last two tracks on Ward's side come from the Bogtrotters Band. The idea behind this recording was to showcase the extremely diverse styles that two banjo players both working in the old-time tradition could have, even if they were raised only a few hundred miles from each other. Though he found some success in the '60s thanks to the Greenwich Village scene, Holcomb stayed a laborer in Kentucky and passed away in 1981 at the age of 68, suffering for years from asthma and emphysema, the results of his years in the coal mines. Similarly, Ward spent his life as a farmer, despite his musical talent. What we have here is essential, and authentic American, from two of the largest names in old-time music. Good size and great bounce!

My 1 1/2 year old Cavapoo loves this toy. Very light weight ball that bounces off her paws when she reaches for it and then having to chase it further. Then she charges back with it for another chase when I throw it again.

THE BEST INDESTRUCTIBLE BALL

I bought this ball 6 months ago and feel obligated to come back all these months later to say how great it is! My Frenchie has killed every toy he’s ever had but not this ball! He absolutely loves this ball. It’s lightweight and can be used for both indoor and outdoor play and still looks brand new.

good ball, wrong color

I think the hot-ee roller is a great ball! My problem is that there is no option to select a color. I thought I was getting a purple one, since that is what is shown in the picture. As usual, I failed to read that it was assorted colors. I have a peculiar little dog that will only play with the purple one. His current purple one is in tatters. You could hardly even call it a ball at this point. We have red, blue and green and they are invisible to him.

Perfect for giving my dull skin a extra boost

Really great moisturizer for my entire body. I have been having issues with my skin looking dull & dry even after using lotion. I’ve realized b/c I am 40+ I need to add an extra layer with a little extra in the ingredients to bring my skin back to life & this has really did a good job so far. I love it. I originally bought it for my day for prom to give her extra shine that will last all night & it did an amazing job on her “young” skin & made it glow so beautifully. Then I said, let’s see what it will do for momma & started using it. I like it b/c it doesn’t leave residue on clothes & it’s not too thick or oily it’s perfect. After the shower this is my got to & a night out I will definitely add a layer of this & hit the road. I definitely recommend this product if you are looking for anything I mentioned above. I will be buying my daughter another bottle & myself as well & adding to subscription list.
